Description

Just an idea of mine that's begging to be written currently...

Torchwood / Underworld crossover, set immediately after the 4th movie with the world becoming aware of vampires and lycans... After the Antigen scientists escape with Michael, she descends back into the facility with Eve, intent on finding out exactly what Antigen had done with her daughter in the twelve years she had been incarcerated there... moving through the facility, she finds references to a 'subject zero'... as she knew Michael was subject one, and Eve was 'subject two', she quickly became focused on finding out exactly what 'subject zero' was and why Antigen had left it behind when they had escaped with Michael...

Searching the facility she finds a single human male locked away behind extreme security, the sort of security she'd expect to find around an elder vampire or alpha lycan... A male suspended in some sort of pink jelly-like substance that seemed to be blocking her from sensing him altogether...

Destroying the security fields and freeing the man, she finally hopes to get some questions from him , questions about herself, the purge, and Eve that she hopes he would know the answer to... but those questions have to go on hold as another stranger interrupts the man's recovery... a stranger that terrifies her down to the core of her being... someone that the vampire genes in her body are immediately recognising as a threat to their very existence...

"Good god Jack, what have you done to yourself this time?" He asks, ignoring Selene and the guns pointed at him.

The naked male on the floor coughs and splutters, regurgitating pink fluid from his lungs as his body repairs nearly a decade of scientific examination and vivisection in a manner of minutes. "It wasn't exactly my idea to..." He breaks off, coughing more of the fluid up. "To be here for the purge either Doctor."

"Of course you had to be here," The other man explained, leaning against the doorway without a care in the world. "How else did you think the human race would survive against warriors like these?" He asked, raising an eyebrow to the latex clad vampire who still had two guns pointed at him.

"This warrior would like an explanation!" Selene all but yelled, standing up from the first man and facing the other with both guns now. "Who are you? Do you work for Antigen?"

"Antigen?" The man all but laughed. "So that's what they're calling themselves these days, did wonder really..." He trailed off thoughtfully.

"And what were they doing to you, and what did he mean, you're the key to humanities survival?" Selene demanded, turning one of the guns to the naked male on the floor and fixing him with a glare. "Who are you anyway?"

"Captain Jack Harkness," The man responded with an appreciative smirk at her outfit.

"Oh behave Jack," The other man grinned over. "I can't leave you alone for a decade without you getting yourself into some sort of trouble can I?"

"Like you're any better?" Jack responded dryly. "What's this, the third body in less than ten years Doctor?"

"It's got a few more miles on it than that," The Doctor replied wryly. "But then, I hadn't expected to find Earth hiding the last remaining vampires in the galaxy either."

"Someone had better start making sense here or I'm going to start shooting." Selene barked out, glaring at Jack first and then over to The Doctor. "What do you mean 'the last remaining vampires, who are you anyway?"

"I'm The Doctor," The man introduced himself, walking forward, seemingly nonplussed by the large calibre pistol pointed directly at his face. "And you're the last because we eradicated your entire species from the galaxy." He said simply, glaring over the pistol directly into her luminescent blue eyes.

"I wouldn't do that," Jack said, talking to Selene as he stood up and snatched the gun pointing at him in a single fluid movement. "You wouldn't want to make him angry, really."

"I'd listen to him," The Doctor said softly. "Really, I would." He continued with sad eyes. "Antigen, really..." He muttered to himself, looking around the lab Jack had been housed in and fixing one of the computers with a glance. "They wanted a weapon, another one, a child..."

"Eve," Selene said simply. "She's waiting in a room down the corridor."

"Your daughter," The Doctor said softly, nodding at her. "They always took daughters. Well, I say always, this is the second time really they've done it, well, that I know of anyway."

"The second time?" Selene demanded. "I had another child?"

"No, no, not you," The Doctor shook his head. "Another girl, in another place and another time. Strictly speaking this might actually be the first time they've done it, chronologically speaking anyway."

"Doctor, who did they take, who are they?" Jack asked, checking the gun he had taken from Selene and raising his eyebrow and the silver nitrate rounds inside. "Not Ro..."

"No," The Doctor cut him off before he could say her name. "She's safe." He sighed. "Someone else, a friend, a good friend really, the best..." He trailed off, the sad look in his eyes returning as he tried to shake off the memory. "They wanted a weapon, a weapon to use against me."

"You?" Jack asked in shock. "They're at war with you? Are they insane?" Jack demanded. "Who are they, Antigen, really?"

"Antigen, The Silence, names and titles," The Doctor shook his head. "There's someone else, someone familiar, someone pulling the strings that knows me, knows how to hurt me, how to target me."

"Doctor, no one knows you like that," Jack frowned. "Not even..." He trailed off, sensing that The Doctor wasn't ready to talk about her yet. Not even in this new body of his, god knows how many years after the last time he had saw him face off against Davros.

"They do," The Doctor said. "A war, and you're part of it now." He said, fixing Selene with a look. "And i'm sorry, i really am."

"You said they'd taken a child, another child before," Selene asked softly, slowly lowering her gun. "What happened to her, to her mother? Did you get her back?"

"No," The Doctor shook his head before grinning slightly. "I married her."
